Following the closure of Kellingley Colliery in 2015 NACODS ceased to exist as a Trade Union although continued to offer assistance for a further 9 years with zero income.

The remaining assets from NACODS (their offices in Barnsley) were transferred to the NUM in September. In return as the majority of former NACODS members would have been NUM Members prior to becoming a Deputy they will be covered by the assistance and representation provided to other former NUM members going forward. The NUM have already made representations to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Energy Minister and Chancellor seeking a similar deal for the BCSSS to what is being sought for MPS members.
